Korean violinist Byeol Kim is a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony and studies with Marc Bouchkov at Folkwang University of the Arts. Active in Germany and South Korea, she performs across orchestral, solo, and chamber settings, approaching music as direct and honest communication.


Biography
From Seoul to Frankfurt
Korean violinist Byeol Kim is a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony and studies with Marc Bouchkov at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Korea National University of Arts, where she studied with Younguk Kim.
Kim performs with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony at venues including Alte Oper Frankfurt, Kulturpalast Dresden, Dvořák Hall in Prague, and L’Auditori in Barcelona. Before joining, she developed her orchestral experience in South Korea as a member of Orchestra The Original and through selected professional and festival-orchestra projects.
She has appeared as a soloist with youth orchestras in Incheon. Her activities include Music in PyeongChang, an appearance in Boswil, Switzerland, and solo recitals in Seoul following selections by Tongui-dong Classic, Drawing the Music, and Aulus.
Her distinctions include first prizes at the IMM International Music Competition and the New York International Music Competition, along with the New Jersey Permanent Representative Award. She has participated in masterclasses with Julia Fischer, Daniel Gaede, Mark Kaplan, Fumiaki Miura, Min Jung Park, and Annette Unger. She is a Deutschlandstipendium recipient and scholarship holder of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony’s Orchestra Academy.
Kim sees performance as honest communication, seeking to bring the character and emotional intention of each work to listeners. Across orchestral, solo, and chamber settings, she continues to broaden her repertoire and shares selected performances and projects online.
